World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade option lets players boost an item's gear rating up 700 points, and then add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you take them to the kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded for their unique stats (like a perfectly rolled breakpoint armour used in melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons do not change significantly after an upgrade, so they aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit chance, and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. Many weapons also come with a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a single unit. This bonus may exceed the damage that an upgrade alone can do.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon requires two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will increase until it needs a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
Upgrades to weapons can also reroll the stats of their base. This is generally a positive thing, but it can also have negative effects. In the case of items that are only used in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance) upgrading them can make them unusable unless you get a lucky roll.
Armor items can also be upgraded to boost their effectiveness. This can increase the base defense of a helm or chest as well as belts and gloves. These can boost their strength and agility. Armor also has the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it may reroll to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats it will get when upgraded, along with their relative values. This means that an upgrade from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon gaining 33% attack damage. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will hit for 3 fewer times because it's an absolute statistic.
A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button, which is accompanied by circling arrows in the menu for items. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's levels or bind to account status.
Armor
Making a few improvements to your armor could make a an enormous difference in your ability to endure. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE increases in resistance to curses, poisons fire, magic, and other. This can make it easier to get through difficult areas. In general, the greater defense you can offer your character, the more health you can gain from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four of them, and each requires you to complete a unique side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main side quest and mastered the fountain in question, you can then contact any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees required to complete each will vary. In general, you'll be looking at anything from three to ten Red Chuchu Jellies and ten Rupees for the initial upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent upgrade. The Champion Leathers, for instance, can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which allows you to remain competitive in frigid conditions with a large group of enemies. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded to +20 defense to ensure you're able to withstand a rout with friends.
You can't upgrade your armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is best to focus on upgrading your armor for physical power or the power of spells. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades for armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you use to fight the final boss as well as the Monter Parts merchant's mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town and you will be able to gain some benefits to your armor. Generally, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be beneficial to have a few upgrades to your chest armor and helmets to let you stealthy battle certain monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by a player, provide an immediate effect for a short period of time. There are five kinds of potions with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to improve their level of effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.
Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP. These can be earned by crafting them using a craft table or the Alchemist's chest. The cost of upgrading varies based on the type of potion as well as the item's rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion you need to right-click it in your inventory. Then select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI that allows you to select the potion you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they'll offer when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a time and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP count.
Once a potion is upgraded, it won't degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it's stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change its name.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the way potions are used. For example splash potions now have an average duration of 0.08 seconds (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display of the item). The table of potion constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players in Survival and Bedrock. this link aren't compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. Also, putting a potion on a full cauldron drains the liquid and replenishes the bottle.
Finally, there are simmering potions that are made with dragon breath and splash potions. In the same way, a lingering potion effect can be extended by adding redstone. The potion table has been rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, for instance, the potion of leaping and decomposition.
Trinkets

A trinket is an ornamental item that is small, cheap or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to a small ornament or object that serves a purpose, but is not important, like a Thimble. In some cultures a trinket is used to express affection or friendship between family members.
Players can upgrade trinkets as well as weapons, armor, and potions. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets unlike other items which can be upgraded can be traded at will without losing statistics.
Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of every zone and in some cases in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.
Upgrades to trinkets are a cost-effective alternative to purchasing an entirely new one. It is possible to upgrade players for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same level of base as the old trinket but it also comes with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.
Once the old Trinkets are no longer usable, they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase their power and value with time. They can be traded between players and are a viable alternative to gold.
In general players should make upgrades to their top-priority items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are first upgraded, followed by their secondary gear, and then other pieces of equipment they will not replace in the near future (such as a ring or an cloak). Players should also take into consideration their class's preferred stats when selecting the items to upgrade. For example If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tanks it is recommended that they upgrade their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and helm.
When they are no longer useful trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket comes with an additional 1percent bonus. However, a re-upgrade will destroy the old trinket until it is saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than buying an entirely new trinket.
