Cyberpunk 2077 Item Upgrading Guide
It is important to upgrade your items to maximize your gearing potential. It allows you to add additional stats to the value of your item's base level.
Each upgrade template comes with a set of options which can be changed using the edition GUI. These options include the upgrade reference and the chance to upgrade.
Upgrade components
The system for upgrading weapons, armor and other gear in Cyberpunk 2077 has been reworked as part of the 2.0 update. Upgrade components can be found all over Night City, and the item that you want to upgrade must have an upgrade slot. The game will show an overview of the item's expected stats after upgrading. It will also show the component or material required. If you don't have the required level or resource to upgrade an item, the button will read "Blocked."
Weapons and armor can be upgraded as well as a few trinkets and gathering tools. Upgrade slots can be filled on every item to give bonus attributes or other effects when the equipment is used. These upgrades can be acquired by crafting, purchased from a merchant or looted.
There are two types: universal upgrades and gemstones.
