World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as crit chance and PvE damage.
For example, a weapon with the upgrade template that is ending in % will take on 3damage to attack each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons, and trinkets to provide a stat bonus or extra impact while they're being used. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment with a slot for them. The item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level for a component to be inserted. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and Enrichments are kind of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as other items that are not ascended. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade could have a prefix or suffix, modifying the name of the equipment to which it is applied (for example "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of the equipment with the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than is required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.
A 'boost upgrade' can modify the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or purchasing them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals per.
The player is able to have the maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the chance that a better-quality version of the item will appear during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of how much they'll improve after a future reset.
If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be costly, and there is a significant possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break when it fails. A failed upgrade will ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the various Glyphs as well as also a few rare glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your equipment. Leveling

These points can be used to level up the item. Once enough points are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When an individual player improves a piece of equipment it will be replaced with the new item. This means that the same armor piece will become an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will have a unique bonus. This can be a disadvantage because it can cause the item to become more expensive, even if you don't require it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can roll the upgrade of their item. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, which will come with the level 1 base, and a completely different set of bonuses. This is useful for certain items, however it shouldn't be repeated often, as it could waste lots of resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled several times, increasing their value and giving players the ability to alter their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player continuously enters or exits the water. This item can be upgraded several times by increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its base value.
